Sweet and sunny
This engagement shoot by Sloan Photographers makes me smile. The couple is so natural it's as if they didn't even know the photographer was there. I love the vintage feel of the photographs and even the quirky vintage clothes - I can just imagine their wedding will be a delightful celebration!

Real Wedding #19: Surprise!
We adore the lovely Amy Moss and her blog, Eat Drink Chic; so are delighted to feature her gorgeous, surprise, backyard wedding. Guests arrived for the 'engagement party' only to be surprised with a delightful wedding. So many beautiful, personal touches - let this wedding inspire you to create a look and embark on simple DIY projects that reflect your individual love and hearts! We love this one. x
Amy featured these lovely origami heart invitations on her blog in Feb, under the guide of engagement invites - of course, made by her and fiance.
The flowers, especially the hanging glass bottles, are divine. We love the scones and strawberry jam in handmade baskets - served as wedding cake. Amy wore a 30-year old vintage sundress, that belonged to her mom! Actually - we love everything about this so here are some photos but click here to read more abut this wedding and see more fabulous shots.

Inspiration board 19: Lemon drops
Apologies for the late posting of this week's inspiration board, but we at Inspired Bride were attending a World Cup game - USA vs Algeria. It was not bridal at all but plenty of fun. Because we are in the middle of winner I was inspired to create a mood board of all things lemon-coloured. This colour has fresh and happy feeling but is ultra-chic and looks so pretty when paired with white. Touches of lemon can come through in your bouquet, your wedding cake and your name tags. A big bowl of lemons is easy to put together and never fails to freshen up any table. So don’t let the winter grays bring you down, a tiny drop of lemon does wonders for your mood! (Check out our sunny yellow inspiration board here)

Bridesmaids dresses they'll wear again
We all think our bridesmaids will wear their lovely dresses again, but they seldom do. Be inspired by these J. Crew dresses to choose a totally re-wearable dress for your favourite ladies - they'll thank you and hopefully return the favour when it's their turn to choose!

Real Wedding 18: Cookies and Cream
This beautiful wedding dress caught my eye and led me to this beautiful wedding. A subtle vintage feel comes through in the bride's dress, the bridesmaids' dresses and the photography. It blends perfectly with a rustic atmosphere through elements such as the reception in a barn, logs used in the centre pieces and good old homemade cookies. I love the simplicity of this wedding - everything naturally reflects the couple and their love for each other!

Sometimes we have to be practical!
{Source}
I came across this site, From "I Will" to "I Do", the other day and love the practical tips it gives brides on all topics - from how to pee in a wedding dress to how and how not flash your guests in a strapless dress to catering tips and choosing bridesmaids. So if you have a tricky question on your mind visit this site for some great advice.
Some of our favourites ...
- Bring a friend or two with you to the bathroom to hold up your skirt so you can pee.
- When your bridesmaids and mom are planning your shower it's very important that they know who is invited to the wedding. It is not appropriate to invite people to the shower who ARE NOT invited to the wedding.
- The truth is that your girls will probably never wear the bridesmaid dresses you ask them to wear ever again.
- Cash registries are tacky. Everyone wants cash or checks as wedding gifts - who wouldn't want $100 to use on whatever you want? But you cannot register for money. You can't put a button on your wedding website directing guests to PayPal. You can't tell people to just write you a check when they ask what you'd like as a wedding gift.
And you have to watch this video for a Friday giggle.

Inspiration Board #18: Wonderful Winter
Winter is often overlooked by brides choosing a date but we think it's a wonderful time to tie the knot - warm and cosy, elegant and intimate, plus your guests will so look forward to a party out of 'wedding season'. So light those fires, pull on a wrap, mix some hot chocolate and cuddle up.

A charming groom
While most of the focus is on the bride and her dress, let's not forget about the groom! We love a little hint of style and personality coming through the groom's get up like a pocket square, a cheeky (not cheesy!) tie or even a detail on the shirt. These looks certainly may not suit every man but they offer some interesting ideas:

Real Wedding #17: Country Elegance
Today's real wedding features a bride who planned her wedding while working at Martha Stewart Weddings - talk about having the world at your fingertips! But she kept the day understated and filled with personal, handcrafted touches. The warm and rich colour palette is perfect for this wintery time of the year.
Things we love:
*The bride's tea-length dress
*The exuberant photo of the couple leaving the church
*The shawls knitted by the bride for her bridesmaids
*The wreaths carried by the flowergirls
*The lanterns hanging from the roof of the marquee
*The chocolate cake made using the bride's mother's recipe
*The traditional almond favours, simple and timeless
*The handmade poms on the couple's car
