We love looking to the international designers for wedding dress inspiration. the Spring/Summer 2010 collections are outnow and here are some of our favourite looks from the Marchesa Bridal and Spring line. Lots of voluminous tulle and flower inspired structure. Love it!

Real Wedding #14: Beach House

Carrying on with our beach inspiration from last week, this local wedding has everything we love - a beautiful location, thoughtful DIY details and a dress made by the bride's mom! Such a great tip too - if you don't own your own beach house just rent one for a weekend-long wedding celebration as this couple, Simon and Marnhe, did in Kommetjie. You can't help but love the romantic beach setting but it's the small details that we adore - DIY cupcake favours, photo garlands, paper streamers, a picnic meal, handmade colourful napkins and bamboo cutlery, and even the gorgeous flowers were by the bride's family! Just gorgeous!

As we've said before we love the plethora of fantastic free resources made available by amazingly creative people on the web. This is one of our latest finds.

The Pash Weddings Free Printable Planner - an awesome resource for every bride. We love the idea of printing it out and using a file so you can slot in any inspiring pics from magazines or leaflets and correspondence in the pertinent sections.

Shipwreck table numbers

Inspired by the seaside inspiration board, here is a wonderful DIY idea for table numbers for a beach wedding: shipwreck table numbers. However, they can add a beautiful handmade touch to a celebration with any theme!

 

The numbers were embroidered on small hoops. Patterns for numbers can be found online and at sewing shops. The fabric was then sewn into flags, which were mounted on twig crossbars. Dowel sticks will work well too.

The variety of old, glass bottles add a unique, rustic feeling to the table. And make perfect holder for both flowers and table numbers. Ahoy matey! Some pretty touches for your ocean occasion.

Inspiration Board #13: Sand and Sea

With South Africa's gorgous coastline from Natal to the Cape, brides are spoilt for choice if choosing to get married on the beach. it's a beautiful choice - a venue that needs no dressing up, a photographer's dream and a relaxed yet glamourous vibe. We love the blue and white that suit a beach wedding perfectly, although you are by no means restricted. Think shells and sand, sea and sun, barefoot and beautiful!

Red balloon save-the-date

This must be one of the best save-the-dates we have seen! How much fun it would be to receive that in the pos t- it certainly gives a good indication of what the wedding will be like! While the letter-pressed detail card finishes off the save-the-date beautifully, the idea would work just as well with normal printed card. Balloons for Africa is a company that will print balloons in South Africa.

Real wedding 13: Girl meets boy

Today's real wedding is full of simple, country charm. A pretty wedding dress, a gorgeous dog as the best man, and a groom with his guitar make for a celebration straight from the heart. A late summer afternoon was the perfect setting for a wild flower bouquet, a homemade pie buffet, jam favours and bags of lavender sprinkled on the newly weds as they bid farewell. We love the personal touches that reflect this couple's vintage style. The table settings were simple with wild flowers, vintage linens, collections of vases and items straight from the bride's home to add a unique twist. The bride's grandmother has passed away a few months earlier so in her memory, the grandmother's vintage handkerchief was wrapped around the bouquet. What a lovely way to incorporate those that can't share the day.
